Her Art

Lillian Julien brings a new dimension to figurative painting. Sometimes her work exudes bold color, sometimes the softest pastels. Julien paints with heightened emotion, as well as a certain freeness to create her images. Often flat hard-edge shapes exaggerate her strength of design. Julien’s talent is extremely versatile in that her style ranges from straight representation and abstraction to figurative landscapes and distinctive portraiture.

Depending on the desires of the client, she often uses her camera & background in photography to get to know her subjects before beginning their portrait.

Since 1980 her works have appeared in galleries and shows in SoHo, Westhampton, Manhattan, Fort Lee, Connecticut, and Long Island.

Most recently, exhibiting artist in the Fine Art Fair at Hempstead House in the Sands Point Preserve Conservatory on the historic Gould-Guggenheim Estate.

Her commissioned work is in private collections across the country.
